Installing eSim(s) on Android devices manually

This help guide walks you through the steps required to install an eSIM on Android Device’s, the guide was created using a Samsung Galaxy S21 with the most recent version of Android software available at the time, Android 13.

There are two install options offered in this help guide, either “install using a QR code” or “manual install”

Before starting the install, it is important you have the following three components:

Scan the QR Code

Step 1
  • Go to “Settings”
  • Tap “Connections”
  • Tap “SIM Manager”
  • Tap “Add eSIM”
  • Tap “Scan QR Code from service provider”

Enter activation code

Step 2
  • Tap “Enter Activation Code”
  • Copy the Activation Code sent to you and paste it into the Activation Code field.
  • Tap “Done”
  • Tap “Add”
Wait a few minutes for your eSIM to activate

Configure your eSIM

Step 3
  • Leave “Calls” and “Messages” set to your original primary SIM
  • Under “Preferred SIMs”, tap “Mobile Data”
  • Select the eSIM you have added
  • Tap “Change”

Ensure data roaming is active

Step 4
  • Go to “Settings”
  • Tap “Connections”
  • “Mobile Networks
  • Make sure “Data Roaming” is turned on
Once you have landed at your destination, you must turn on “Data Roaming” to begin using your plan.
